    On May 7th, 2024, CRI Partner Scott Bailey presented at the North Carolina Captive Insurance Association Annual Conference in Asheville, NC. Scott joined a panel with Claire Richardson (Hylant Group, Inc.), Will Motley (Johnson Lambert), and Jordan Paszek (Pinnacle Actuarial Resources) to discuss the evolving challenges of identifying and retaining talent within the captive insurance market. The discussion was aimed at captive managers, insurance owners, risk officers, and CFOs.

    On April 4th, 2024, CRI Partner Joseph May spoke at MSU Insurance Day regarding Fraud and the Insurance Industry. This event, organized by MSU Risk Management and Insurance, featured Insurance Commissioners from several states, along with a few hundred agents and other insurance-related professionals. addressed major issues related to fraud in the insurance industry and provided insights for insurance professionals from various areas of practice, including regulators, agents, and insurance company professionals.

  • 7th Annual Atlanta IIA Government and Not-For-Profit Conference

    On January 19th, 2024, CRI Partner Doug Mims spoke at the 7th Annual Atlanta IIA Government and Not-For-Profit Conference virtually for the Atlanta Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Doug provided a detailed overview of key accounting and auditing standards affecting community financial institutions, banks, fintech, etc. He highlighted the evolving Internal Standards for Auditing and the International Professional Practices Framework, emphasizing the new Global Internal Audit Standards draft. The course covers the 5 domains and 15 principles within them, offering participants a solid foundation in the updated standards.

    On November 21st, 2023, CRI Partner Stephanie Spinucci presented on a podcast called Between Two Brokers. Nick Raffety and I were asked as guests on the podcast to talk about updated tax law, what you can deduct as a business owner/real estate agent and the treatment of rental properties on a tax return.
