ICBA Live 2022 Conference Recap

Mar 9, 2022

The Financial Institutions industry line team from Carr, Riggs & Ingram CPAs and Advisors (CRI) was fortunate enough to attend the Independent Community Bankers Association (ICBA) annual meeting in San Antonio. However, instead of just attending, our team went “all in” by proactively participating in a variety of events and interacting with numerous community bankers via the CRI Solutions booth/exhibit.

Some of our highlights from ICBA LIVE 2022 included:

  • Over 2,000 people in attendance, including over 800 Community Bankers from across the US
  • The ICBA LIVE Expo with approximately 170 exhibitors/booths
  • Exhibitors like Fintech companies, professional service providers, and regulatory agencies
  • Approximately 70 educational sessions with over 100 highly qualified presenters
  • Timely and relevant subject matter including cryptocurrency, payments, cybersecurity, digital banking, and ESG, to name a few
  • The ICBA ThinkTECH Accelerator SHOWCASE led by Charles Potts, EVP and Chief Innovation Officer
  • State Banking Association receptions with community bankers and association members
  • An “All Heart and All In” community banking message from ICBA CEO, Rebeca Romero Rainey
  • A highly inspirational message from keynote speaker and five-time Paralympic medalist, Mallory Weggemann
  • The 33rd Annual ICBPAC Auction Fundraiser and the final gala event – A Night to Celebrate.

Everything we experienced during the event made for high energy learning and a fantastic community bank-centric environment.

ICBA LIVE also included the transition of ICBA Chairman duties from Bob Fisher, President & CEO of Tioga State Bank, to Brad Bolton. Brad serves as President, CEO and Senior Lender of Community Spirit Bank in Red Bay, AL. As such, the Alabama Bankers Association co-hosted a reception in his honor that included a variety of community bankers. The reception served as a great tribute to Brad and his family, as well as to community banking in CRI’s home state of Alabama.

Chairman Bolton indicated that for 2022, his sole mission was to serve community banks. CRI has been focused on serving community banks for over 20 years and is proud to be an active member of the ICBA.
